Old mill on the Cetina River
In the area from Novi Sela to Kraljevac, located below Zadvarje, there were once a dozen mills on the Cetina River. The oldest dates back to 1685. These mills were in service until 1912, when the construction of a dam for the Kraljevac hydroelectric power plant changed the river level, causing them to lose their function.

The remains of the Old Mill are located about 2 km upstream from the dam. The mill consisted of two buildings, of which not much has been preserved. It is overlooked by the imposing cliffs of the Cetina canyon, and it is a location certainly worth visiting if you are in the vicinity of Zadvarje!

The owners of the mill once carved a path to the top of the canyon, which people used to bring grain for milling on donkeys. The path is still in use today. It is partially paved with stones that have been worn smooth by centuries of use. Nowadays, it is most frequently used by tourists coming here for rafting, canyoning, and similar activities.

At the top of the canyon, there is a well-maintained viewpoint. It can be reached by a gentle walk among dry stone walls. The path leading from the last houses to the viewpoint is about 0.5 km long. The car can be left either at the last houses, or you can continue along the macadam road for about two-thirds of the way to the viewpoint, where there is a large clearing for parking.

Specijal
