The Green Lake

Imotski is famous for two outstanding attractions, the Blue and Red Lakes, but there is also another, lesser-known one — the Green Lake. This is a reservoir in the northwest of the Imotska krajina, in the village of Ričice, fed by the rivers Vrbica and Ričina.
The lake can be reached from several directions, and our favourite is the one from the northwest. You can drive all the way down to the shore, but the gravel road can be quite damaged by rainwater runoff, so it is nonetheless more convenient to park at the viewpoint by the main road. It is precisely from this viewpoint that an unreally beautiful view opens onto the Green Lake, which will enchant you with its strikingly turquoise colour. The surroundings are also distinctive. In places they are like the surface of the Moon.
This spot is ideal for spending a pleasant time barbecuing and socialising, and if you drop by in the summer months and decide to take a swim, it will give you the refreshment you need to continue your journey.

Special
Although our focus is on Croatia, due to great interest in reviewing some international locations from our travels, we decided to launch the Special section. In it, we will not cover locations in the same detailed way we do with Croatian ones, but will instead provide a brief overview of multiple locations grouped into meaningful categories. The only criterion we still strictly follow is that they must be natural attractions.
